How far from the cannon did the shell land? The units are not in the mks system here, but the answer is unambiguous.

When the shell lands, the vertical displacement is zero. We use this to find the initial launch speed. In the horizontal direction, the velocity will be constant because there is no acceleration in horizontal direction. We use this to find the required distance from the canon where the shell lands.
