power man punches the evil chemistro up a street inclined at 20 degrees. the coefficient of friction between the chemistro and the street is .333. If chemistro starts sliding up the hill with an intial velocity of 22.0 m/s (a) what will be the maximum height reaches(vertical distance only). (b) how much heat in joules was generated by the sliding? (c) if power man's fist was in contact with chemistro (90.0 kg) for .300 seconds how much average power did power man deliver.

Homework Answers

Answer #1

Here ,

theta = 20 degree

coefficient of friction , u = 0.333

iniital speed , u = 22 m/s

a)

let the maximum height is h

Using conservation of energy

m * 9.8 * h + u *mg * h/sin(theta) = 0.5 * m * v^2

(9.8 + 9.8 * 0.333/sin(20))* h = 0.5 * 22^2

solving for h

h = 12.5 m

the height reached by him is 12.5 m

part B)

heat generated = work done by frictional force

heat generated = 0.333 * mg * h/sin(theta)

heat generated = 0.333 * 90 * 9.8 * 12.5/sin(20)

heat generated = 10734 J

the heat generatted is 10736 J

part C)

power = total work done /time

power = 0.5 * 90 * 22^2/.3

power = 72600 W

the average power is 72600 W

Please solve the following problems. You must show all work. 1. A 10.0 cm radius piston compresses a gas isothermally from a height of 15.0 cm to 2.50 cm at a constant pressure of 2.0 atm. a) How much heat was added to the gas? b) Now if 7000 J of heat is added to the system and the piston is only moves 5.0 cm up, what is the change in the internal energy of the system is the pressure...
