Question

A boy is rotating a stone tied with a rope in horizontal circle of radius 0.5 m. The mass of stone is 2 kg and tangential velocity of stone is 2 m/s. Calculate the tension in the rope.

Solution: The tension in the rope, T will be equal to centripetal force (Fc).

==>T = mV^2/R

[where, m = mass, v = velocity, R = radius]

==>T = 2*2^2/0.5

==>T = 16 N (ANSWER)

During this week's reading we encountered a lot of new vocabulary. I usually don't quiz students on definitions of statistics vocabulary. I think it is much more useful for students to have an understanding of what terms mean rather than have them memorize definitions (which they soon forget). I want us to get in the practice of of putting meanings of new vocabulary in our own words, using our own examples to illustrate meanings to us. That will make these...

Crime-related and demographic statistics for 47 US states in 1960 were collected from government agencies, including the FBI's Uniform Crime Report. One analysis of this data found a strong connection between education and crime indicating that higher levels of education in a community correspond to higher crime rates. Which of the potential problems with samples discussed in [link] could explain this connection? YouPolls is a website that allows anyone to create and respond to polls. Q1(c). A tutorial question and its suggested solution were: Q. Discuss depreciation in the context of the various accounting concepts. Solution: The matching principle and the ‘accounting period’ assumption require the recognition of depreciation as the consumption of the economic benefit received from the asset’s historical cost during the period. The balance of unconsumed economic benefits is maintained on the statement of financial position as the fixed asset’s carrying or net book value. Required: Explain the answer to the tutorial...

five times in the course of parts a-d of this experiment you were able to dissolve an "insoluble" compound, something that seems like a contradiction in terms, identify each of the 5 compounds and briefly explain, with the help of chemical equation, what made each of those dissolutions possible.
