Hydrogen atom only consists of one electron and one proton, there is no neutron. The electron is a negatively charged particle and proton is a positively charged particle, the atom is stable due to the existence of the coulombic interaction between the proton and the electron, which also makes the atom neutral in charge. The stability is also due to the dual nature of the electron, leading to formation of discrete stable orbitals for electrons around the Proton under the effect of Coulombic Potential.
