What is the purpose of the dynamics in one dimension experiment?

In dynamics, we study the motion of objects and the behaviour of objects which are being acted upon by forces or torques. In one dimension we are only considered about forces and the acceleration caused by the net force on an object. Newton's second law states that the acceleration of a body when there is a net force on that body is directly proportional to the net force. From this we get the equation F = ma. So the purpose of dynamics in one dimensional experiments is to calculate the net force or the acceleration of a body when the mass of the body is given.
