What is the net force acting on a body moving at a uniform speed?

Homework Answers

Answer #1

Step 1 of 2

To find the net force acting on the body which is moving with uniform speed ?

Step 2 of 2

Uniform speed of a body means constant magnitude and direction, where the entire resultant force of a body is zero or the force does not change the magnitude of the speed. So,the net resultant force is zero.

And if there is the resultant force acting on the body is accelerating, then the body moves at a constant speed and the net resultant force is not zero.

The centripetal force acting on an object undergoing uniform circular motion is the net force acting on the object. In this experiment, the centripetal force is due to tension in the string. In other scenarios, what forces can provide the centripetal force? Describe at least two scenarios of uniform circular motion and name the centripetal force in each.
