In order to reach as high as possible in a vertical jump, what position should an athlete adopt at takeoff and at the peak of the jump? (Hint which body position will result in the greatest distance between the fingertips and the CG at the peak of the jump?)
first they run in curved path to covert horizontal velocity in vertical velocity. Its like when you drive a car in circle and suddenly turn your steering outside the circle, car will be fliped easily. then at the takeoff they raise their hands to make center of garvity upwards and push their body upwards by feet.
at the peak of the jump they rotate and bend their body in a way that their back is facing the high jump bar. this is because by doing this their center of gravity will outside and down from their body. they can go heigher than center of gravity by adoping this position
