How is the Pauli exclusion principle related to electrical properties of solids?

How is the Pauli exclusion principle related to electrical properties of solids?

Homework Answers

Answer #1

As we know that Pauli exclusion principle says that no two electrons can have same set of quantum numbers . So this restrict that atleast each electron have its spin quantum no different . So due to this spin quantum number we can explain most of electrical properties of solid like conductivity ,mobility . Conductivity is just a flow of charged spin particle if we know the sound of particle then we can easily predict the conductivity . Same reason can be provided in case of mobility.
