The sky looks blue due to the phenomenon of scattering .the particles in the atmosphere scatters blue color more than any other color in the white light. hence the sky appears blue

due to scaterring of light , the red light is scattered by smallest amount. during sunset , light has to travel longer distance. sue to scattering , most of the blue light goes away , and we are left with red.hence sunset appears red

clound after gathering water , becomes more dense and thick. and hence are able to scatter the light more. that is the reason that they appear gray
