a) You slightly lean on a table as you push it forward. How does your leaning on the table affect the normal/support force between it and the floor?
b) You pull the table toward you and slightly lift it as you do so. How does your lift of the table affect the normal/support force between it and the floor?
(a)
When the table puch forword by applying the force in horizontal direction than the normal force between the floor and table will not affact because the normal force is equal to the weight of the table.
It will affact when the slidding force is applied at an angle.
(b)
The normal reaction is between the floor and table is equal to the weight of the table
when the table is pulled by the force (F) than the normal reaction between the table and floor will decrease by force F.
When the value of lifting force will more then the weight of the table than the table will lift and the normal reaction becomes zero.
