converging lens. The lens has a focal length of 10.0 cm. Select the
statement from the list above which best describes the image.
Using the Lens equation :
1/v + 1/u = 1/f
here,
v = image distance
u = object distance = 38.3 cm
f = focal length = 10 cm
So,
1/v + 1/38.3 = 1/10
So, v = 13.5 cm
As the object is placed beyond twice the focal length (= 2*10 cm = 20 cm), the image will be placed between f(10 cm) and 2f ( 20cm ) on the opposite side of the lens. So, the image is real and inverted . Also, as v is less than u so, the image is smaller than the object.
