Answer #1

The reading on the scale R1 = 25.2 N

when submerged in water

   R1 = mg - Vp1g

mg = R1 + Vp1g

and when it is submerged in alcohol

R2 = mg - Vp2g

mg = R2 + Vp2g

then

R1 + Vp1g = R2 + Vp2g

   R2 - R1 = V(p1 - p2) g

therefore the volume of the block

     V = (R2-R1) / (p1 - p2) g

        = (25.8 -25.2) / (1000 - 806)(9.8)

        = 0.315*10^-3 m^3 Answer

Therefore the density of the block

p = m/V

             = R1/gV + p1

              = (25.2)/(9.8)(0.315*10^-3) + 1000

              = 9163.26 kg/m^3 Answer

I hope help you.
