A spring is hung from the ceiling, and has a rest length of 43.0 cm. A block (mass = 0.374 kg) is attached to the spring. When we slowly let the mass down (being careful to not let it start oscillating), the spring stretches to a length of 58.4 cm. We then pull the mass down 3.0 cm below this position and let it go to begin oscillating. Assume the mass of the spring is negligible.

a) What is the spring constant of the spring?

b) What is the angular frequency of the block’s vibration?
