(a) Forces acting on comductor portion of energy transmission lines :-

  1. Magnetic force between different wires.
  2. Weight (Gravitational force) on a wire.
  3. Tension due to poles.
  4. Force due to wind and ice.

(b) For cost effective energy transmission, wires used are made up of aluminium because it does not corrode amd because of its cheaper rate than silver and gold though silver and gold are more conducting than aluminum but economically it is not a good idea to use them, so we use aluminium wires .

To give strength to aluminium wires, it is wrapped around one steel wire to hold the wire for long time.
