1. Differentiate a ferromagnetic material from an antiferromagnetic material.
2. Give two ways how a material can be made magnetic
1)
In ferromagnetic material, all the magnetic dipoles are aligned parallel and oriented in the same direction and occurs in microscopic regions called magnetic domains. They have have a net magnetic moment and on heating, they lose their magnetism slowly
On the other hand, Anti ferromagnetic material have their magnetic dipoles aligned in opposite directions and have zero net magnetic moment.
_______________
2)
By exposing the material to a magnetic field using electric current. We know when an electric current flows, magnetic field is created
By rubbing a magnet in one direction along a ferromagnetic object.
