Rocket is basically a spacecraft that is send to space. It consist of many stages which separate out as it moves up.

Rocket work on the principle of the Newton third law of motion which state that ' to every action, there is equal and opposite reaction'. Rocket has fuel propellent that burns out and ejected out of the rocket. This action of rocket of ejecting the exhaust apply reaction force on the rocket by exhaust, thus creating thrust.In this way, rocket moves forward. Now, it can be multistage rocket. every time the stage/ part of rocket separate from it, velocity of it increases by conservation of linear momentum. So with the help of multistage rocket we can have escape velocity through which it can escape from earth.
