These cells detect colors. Retina Cones Pupil Rods

These cells detect colors.

Retina

Cones

Pupil

Rods

Homework Answers

Answer #1

The cells that detect colors are Cones.

Cones, There are 3 types of cone cells one sensitive to red light, another to green light and the last to blue light.  The data received from these 3 types of cone cells creates different colors.

Retina, a lining at the back of eye contains two photoreceptor cells called Rods and Cones .Retina converts light to electrical signals.

Pupil, It's a hole in the center of iris .The iris regulates the size of pupil and ensures there is enough light for vision without damaging retina.

Rods, These cells detect the motion through variance in luminance. They require less light than cone cells.

The maximum resolution of the eye depends on the diameter of the opening of the pupil (a diffraction effect) and the size of the light receptor cells (rods or cones) on the retina. The size of the retinal cells (about 5.0 μm in diameter) limits the size of an object at the near point (25 cm ) of the eye to a height of about 50 μm . (To get a reasonable estimate without having to go through complicated calculations,...

Mark the true statements about cell division. Most of the time, healthy cells detect errors in division and shut themselves down. The immune system can detect cells with errors and eliminate them. Mutations can accumulate, allowing the rogue cell to pass the fail safes. Cancer cells are disguised as normal cells that have the ability to attack white blood cells.
