does higher reflectance of light mean the light spends more time in the material to reflect , thus causing higher interaction of light? Can anyone explain it to me in depth, and does higher refractive index cause higher interaction of light?

Answer #1

When light shows more reflection from the surface of any material then it doesn't mean that light spend more time in the material. The reflection of light from the surface of material depends on the behaviour of material like the materials which shows more reflection are actually cause less transmission of light . The higher refractive index of material shows that speed of light in that material is less which cause light to spend more time in the material during it's transmission.

A study of parental empathy for sensitivity cues and baby temperament (higher scores mean more empathy) was performed. Let x1 be a random variable that represents the score of a mother on an empathy test (as regards her baby). Let x2 be the empathy score of a father. A random sample of 31 mothers gave a sample mean of x1 = 69.55. Another random sample of 36 fathers gave x2 = 59.00. Assume that σ1 = 10.71 and σ2 =...
