-Give an example of an experiment from your field of study where a pattern in data is used to construct a mathematical relationship.

-Discuss how plotting data can help you identify the relationship between the current through the resistor and the potential difference across it.

Answer #1

From Ohm's law

the current throw the resistor is proportional to the potential difference between the ends

tha is

which is like a equation of a straight line y = mx , where m is the slope of the line

same way the term R is slope which is resistance

as we increase the potential difference across the ends the current is also increases , keeping the resistance constant and temperature conditions also .

ploting the graph V vs I ,taking V on y axis and I on x axis we get the straight line passing through the origin

between any two points we can measure the slope which is equivalent to the resistance of the resistor

What are the three types of species dispersion pattern? Give an example of each. How do we calculate mortality rate? Survivorship can be calculated using the following formula: proportion of individual cohort that survive to age “x” or (x ÷ by original cohort). The resulting data can be used to create a survivorship curve. Differentiate between the three major types (I, II, III).

Data from drug stability study shows non-linear relationship between storage time and the concentration of degradation product in tablets. That relationship is best described by an exponential equation C=C0*exp(k*t) , where t – storage time (in months), C and C0 are current (at time t) and initial concentrations of the degradant, respectively; and k – reaction constant. We have the data for C, C0 and t for multiple tablet samples measured every 6 months over 36-months period. Can we use...

How Grounded Is Your Love Life? In a recent experiment, psychologists at University of Pittsburgh and the University of Waterloo in Canada decided to examine stability, turbulence and love. The researchers focused on stability because it is a term that has both literal and abstract meanings. Our bodies can be physically stable or they can be wobbly, and so can our intimate relationships. The study participants were 40 college students who reported being involved in a committed relationship that had...
