An object is thrown downward with a speed of 5.00 m/s from a location 19.6 m directly above the ground. How long does it take the object to reach the ground? [Assume there is no air resistance.]

Please can you go step by step. Thansk

Homework Answers

Answer #1

Initial speed of the object is 5.00 m/s

Distance to be travelled = 19.6 m

and acceleration due to gravity = 9.8 m/s2

Using the Formula

Solvint this equation for t we can get the time required to reach the ground.

So it takes around 1.55 sec to reach the object to hit the ground.
