what can be used in place of a galvanometer in electromagnetic induction.?

what can be used in place of a galvanometer in electromagnetic induction.?

Homework Answers

Answer #1

In electromagnetic induction Galvanometer is utilized to detect the direction of induced current. Galvanometer can be deflect even a very small current is flowing in the circuit. It deflect according to direction of current flowing through the circuit.

Galvanometer can be replaced by an appropriate ammeter but ammeter will not show the direction of induced current and if a very small of current is induced then the the deflection in the ammeter will be very small. it deflect according to the amount of current and Ammeter only shows the amount of induced current flowing through the circuit.

Mutual induction can be used as the basis for a metal detector. A typical setup uses two large coils that are parallel to each other and have a common axis. Because of mutual induction, the ac generator connected to the primary coil causes an emf of 0.541 V to be induced in the secondary coil. When someone without metal objects walks through the coils, the mutual inductance and, thus, the induced emf do not change much. But when a person...
