velocity and accelerations are vector quantities.

If both boats are of same speed means they may or may not be at same position also.

How ever to say directly the two boats are of same speed if and only if they travel equal distances in equal intervals of time. so there may be chance to get the same position in this case.

so right answer is a) position.
