Five atomic particles (A thru E) enter the uniform magnetic field with the same velocity. What can you say about the relative size and charge of these five particles.
We know that for a charged particle
here r is the radius of halical path. We can see that the radius of halical path depends on mass directly but inversely proportional to the charge. Hence we can say that the particle having greater mass and smaller charge will trace the halical path having greatest radius. And the particle having lower mass and graeater charge will trace the halical path having smallest radius. Hence the radius of the halical path traced by the particle will tell us about its size, mass, charge etc.
I hope it will help you!
