In a lab experiment, the uncertainty on the slope was σslope = 0.03. The maximum slope was 0.41 and the minimum slope was 0.29. The number of data points on the graph was:?

I just dont know which formular I should use for this question. BTW: final answer is 6.

Answer #1

Uncertaintyslpoe = (Max. slope - Min. slope) / (Pmax - Pmin)

where, Pmax = Point at Max. slope occcur

Pmin = Point at Min. slope occcur

Now from question data-

0.03 = (0.41 - 0.29) / (Pmax - Pmin)

(Pmax - Pmin ) = 0.12/0.03 = 4

Here (Pmax - Pmin) = 4 (This value shows the point between tha Pmax and Pmin and Graph include the Pmax and Pmin also)

Than-

The number of data point = 4+2 = 6 (2 is for Pmax and Pmin)

Thankyou !!! Have fun

This question is from a physics lab on Gravitational Acceleration. Given that each tick from a spark timer occurs at one sixtieth of a second, get the slope in units of cm/sec^2. Compare your answer with the standard value of 980 cm/sec^2by computing the percentage difference. Our lab data for instantaneous velocity gives us a best fit line with and equation of y=.5223 + 2.0692 giving a slope of .5223 cm/ticks^2. This conversion seems as if it should be pretty...

Excel Lab 2: Regression and Goal Seek In this lab, you will use Excel to determine the equation of the model which best fits a set of ordered pairs obtained from data sets. You will enter data, graph the data, find the equation for the regression model, and then use that equation to make predictions for the dependent variable. You will use the goal seek to make predictions for the independent variable. Then you will consider how accurate your predictions...

Question 1 A group of students is told to use a meter stick to find the width of a physics lab room. They reported 6 independent measurements: 4.402 m, 4.217 m, 4.345 m, 4.925 m, 4.372 m, 4.289 m. How should they report their best estimate? (note: don’t forget to look for outliers and any extra decimal places) Group of answer choices W = (4.33 ± 0.03) m W = (4.325 ± 0.073) m W = (4.43 ± 0.25) m...
