Explain why sunsets are red and the sky is blue on Earth. Does the same principle apply to the moon on Mars? Ocean is greenish-blue? Clouds are white?
TY IN ADVANCE!!
why sunsets are red :
the atmosphere through which the light travels while coming to our eyes from sun, consists of small particles. these small partciles inteacts with various colors present in white light and scatters each color depending on the wavelength. the blue color is scattered most because it has small wavelength comparable to size of small particles. during sunset the light has to travel longer distances and most of the blue light is removed giving us red color only. hence sunsets looks red.
