Find the size of the image of a body 2 cm high when placed 15cm in front of a concave mirror, whose radius of curvature is 30 cm. Is the image real or virtual?

Homework Answers

Answer #1

Given is:-

Size of the object = 2cm

Object distance u=-15cm

Radius of curvature = 15cm then focal length = 15/2 = 7.5cm usinf sign convention f=-7.5cm

Applying mirror equation

by plugging all the values we get

Using the formula of magnification for mirrors,

Height of the image/ height of the object = m

thus height of the image = -2cm

Therefore the nature of the image is = real and inverted
