Cisco packet tracer
Q1) Do you get any changes of IP address when packet is traversing from one node to the immediate next node: My answer is no.
Explain why?
Q2) Do you get any changes of MAC address when packet is traversing from one node to the immediate next node: My answer is yes.
Explain why?
1. There is no change in IP address, because while sending the packet from one node to another node we will already be specifying the source and destination IP addresses. So there in no change in IP address as the packet traverses from one node to another.
2. There is a change in MAC Address, as the packet traverses from the source device to the destination device. The packet when it reaches the destination device, the device does a ARP request and the IP address is resolved to MAC Address. Here there is a change in MAC address.
