State Coulomb’s Law, explain all the symbols and their meaning with the
aid of a schematic diagram.

Homework Answers

Answer #1

Coulomb's law states that there exhists an electrostatic force between the two chraged particles such that they repel if they are alike in sign and attract if they are of opposite sign. Also, the magnitude of force between the two chrages is directly proportional to product of the magnitudes of charges and inversely proportional to square of distnace between them.

Mathematically, the expression for force is

Where, F is the magnitude of force, Q1 and Q2 are magnitudes of charge on charged particles, r is distnace between the charges, is permitivitty of the space the charged particles are present in.
