If Earth suddenly lost its ozone layer, what would happen to the carbon cycle and the Earth's longterm temperature? Why is this the case?
Solution:
If Earth suddenly lost its ozone layer,
Carbon cycle will have huge disbalance as the Ultravoilet (UV) radiation will impact the productivity by affecting photosynthesis process of our plants and that will start deterioration of our forest as 30% of our earth surface is covered with forests and their deterioration will produce huge amound of CO2 and as we know that plants take CO2 but extinciton of plants and forest will rapidly increase the amount of CO2, and ultimately decreasing the amount of oxygen, present in the atmosphere. in a nutshell we can say that rapid increase of CO2 will occur that will cause carbon cycle disbalance.
Now As the amount of CO2 will increase the temperature of the earth would increase significantly immediatly as far as longterm temperature is concern temperature of the earth would increase continuously causing human life about impossible at earth.
