why is it accurate to calculate the wavelength by measuring the distance between the nodes that are the farthest apart instead of two adjacent nodes?

Answer #1

Solution :-
It is better because the end nodes are fixed/ends of the string. Any small errors in amplitutde can be transmitted through the string and can cause errors in measuring the accurate points of the nodes which are adjacent to each other. Between the two end nodes, the number of nodes through the string can be measured, the number in itself won't vary and the length of the string is already known. The wavelength thus can be calculated more accurately

The distance between two connected nodes in a graph is the length (number of edges) of the shortest path connecting them. The diameter of a connected graph is the maximum distance between any two of its nodes. Let v be an arbitrary vertex in a graph G. If every vertex is within distance d of v, then show that the diameter of the graph is at most 2d.

Find the wavelength of the laser through two slits. The distance between the slit to the screen is 1 meter, the two slits are separated by 0.01 mm, and the distance between interference maxima is 6.33 cm. The angle is also 3.63 degrees between the first maxima (center) and the second maxima, with an order of m =1. In an ionic compound, the size of the ions affects the internuclear distance (the distance between the centers of adjacent ions), which affects lattice energy (a measure of the force need to pull ions apart), which affects the enthalpy of solution. Based on ion sizes, rank these compounds by their expected heats of solution. Most exothermic to most endothermic. Substances are Kf Kl KBr KCl
