A = area of cross-section of the pipe = r2 = (3.14) (0.063)2 = 0.0125 m2

v = speed = 1.1 m/s

Flow rate is given as

V = Av = 0.0125 x 1.1 = 0.01375 m3/s

b)

A1 = 0.0125 m2

v1 = 1.1 m/s

A2 =  area of cross-section of the pipe = r2 = (3.14) (0.05)2 = 0.00785 m2

using equation of continuity

A1 v1 = A2 v2

(0.0125) (1.1) = (0.00785) v2

v2 = 1.75
