Distinguish between a virtual image and a real image.

Distinguish between a virtual image and a real image.

Answer #1

A real image is the one which can be obtained on a screen WHEREAS virtual image cannot be obtained on a screen .

Real image is always formed by concave mirror and a convex lens , whereas virtual image can be formed by concave mirror, convex mirror, concave lens and a convex lens .

A real image is formed when the rays of light from the object actually meet after reflection from a mirror or retraction from a lens , whereas the virtual image is formed when the rays of light appear to meet at a point after reflection or refraction.

Real image is always inverted , whereas virtual image is always erect .
