A sound source with a frequency of 1800 Hz moves away 24 m / s from a reflective wall which also moves away from the source at 26 m / s. If the speed of sound is 343 m / s determine the frequency that detects the source of the reflected wave. (10 points)

Answer #1

Wall receives wave from source at frequency say f1. Now when wave is reflected from wall, wall behaves like a source of frequency f1 and source receives it at frequency f2.

When wall receives wave, source and receiver are moving away from each other. When wall behaves as source and original source as receiver, again two are moving away from each other.

Frequency of wave received by receiver, when source and receiver move away from each other
