1. Newton's first law of motion states that 'everu body in its state of rest or at uniform motion unless it is compelled by an unbalanced external force acts on it. When we are skating then the body needs a push after that it will continue in its state of uniform motion.

2. Inertia is the inability of a body to change its state of rest or uniform motion. The mass of body determines its inertia.

3. Newton's second law of motion gives that 'the rate of change of momentum of a body is directly proportional to the unbalanced external force acts on it and takes place in the direction of motion.'

According to Newton’s second law of motion,

F =ma

Thus acceleration, a =F/m
