Describe what happens physically to produce a Doppler effect. What is an example of
the Doppler Effect used in everyday life?
Doppler effect in Sound
the apparent change in frequency due to the relative motion between the source of sound and the listner.
f' = f (v-+vl)/(v-+vs)
daily we can experience the Doppler effect , for exmample if you are at roadside while an ambulance is passing by then you can observe the change in frequency of the horn of the ambulance sound as it is approaching you and passed away .
when the ambulance is approaching you the frequency gradually increases later it decreases
here Vl is the velocity of the listner and
Vs is velocity of the source
V is speed of sound in air
f is the frequency of the sound
f' is apparent frequency
