Why does lighting strike twice? And how?

Why does lighting strike twice? And how?

Homework Answers

Answer #1

There is an old saying that " Lightning never strikes the same place twice ". But it is totally a myth which is devoid of any scientific logic. The Strike of lightning does not change anything neither to the cloud nor to the place where it strikes(Electrical property reamains totally unchanged). The charge goes to the ground and cloud can get again charged up.So there is equal probablity of hitting the same spot again by the lightning.Given enough time Lightning will ineviatble hit the same spot twice .
