Ohm's law : It states that potential accross a wire is directly propotional to the current, provided temperature and area of cross section of the wire should remain constant.

V (voltage) : it is provided by the battery

I (current) : it is rate of flow of charge, like water flows.

R (resistance) : it opposes the current. like heater wire.

Current is the variable which can do harm when in direct human contact.
