V=IR is Ohm’s law, explain and give a practical example of each variable. Which one of the variables can do harm when in direct human contact?
Solution:
ohm's law : According to ohm's law potential is directly propotional to the current in the wire, provided the temperature and area of cross section of the wire is kept constant.
ohm's law gives , V = I * R where , V = potential , I = current , R = Resistance.
Now, coming to variables V (potential) is used to push the electrons or charges which provides current and real world example is battery which gives potential to push the electrons and provides current.
Current(I) is the rate of flow of charge. Current flows through the medium, current flows throgh the wire which makes our home appliances work.
Resistance is the property of object to oppose the flow of current , even a wire offers some amount of resistance.
Current can do harm when in direct human contact as it passes through your body and you get shock.
