It shows that light exhibits different behavior, wave-like or particle-like, depending on how the experiment is set up. It shows that quantum behavior is really weird, and spawned an everlasting debate on what it means for a particle to also be a wave, depending on the measurement used.We are forced to conclude that… a single photon is responsible for the ability of the two beams to interfere, as well as for the absorption of light from one of the beams… the interpretation of the photon as a pointlike structure does not admit of an explanation for the interference phenomena which are produced if both parts of the beam interact.
