In thermodynamics.

What can you tell about the refrigerant from the statement below and the 134a table? is is a liquid? by saying that it is a refrigerant tell us that it is a liquid? Here is the table https://www.physicsforums.com/attachments/thermodynamic_tables_si-pdf.88587/

Refrigerant 134a at 800 kPa and 25?C.

How do you know it is a liquid at 800kPa and 25C?

Answer #1

Given T= 250C

PRESSURE =800KPa

to determine the region weare in we will go to the saturated refridgerent 134a table and find the saturation temperature at the given pressure which comes out to be 31.310C.

Now we compare temperature with saturation temperature and keep in mind that

T<Tsat we have compressed liquid

T=Tsat we have saturated mixture

T>Tsat we have superheated vapour

here in this case T is less than Tsat therefore we have compressed liquid

here in case of refrigerant we treat the compressed liquid as saturated liquid at a given temperature not for pressure.
