if a compressive force of 3.3x10^4 N is exerted on the end of a 22 cm long bone of cross-sectional area 3.6 cm^2 a) will the bone break and b) if not, how much does it shorten?

the problem diesnt give it, but when i looked it up on the internet, the tensile strength of bone is 150MPa and teg tensile strain is 0.02.

So, for this bone we calculate it is,

So we get strain in bone is,

STRAIN= APPLIED STRESS / K

Now,

l is length of bone so from here we get change in the length of bone

So, the length of bone is shorten by this much amount.
