A steam power plant operates with a high pressure of 4 MPa and has a boiler exit at 600C recieving heat from 700C reservoir. The ambient air at 20C provides cooling to maintain the water/vapor mixture in the condenser at 60C. All components are ideal (reversible) except the turbine which has an efficientcy 92% of a reversible, isentropic process. other than that the irreversibility of the turbine, the power plant can be considered as a Rankine cycle. Determine the following quantities in the suggested sequence:
a.) h3 and s3 of steam at boiler exit
b.) h1 at condenser exit
c.) s4, X4 (quality of steam at 4), h4 and reversible work done by a turbine assuming it is a reversible process
d.) work done by the actual turbine assuming it is a reversible process
e.) work done by the pump, h2 and qh
f.) the specific entropy generation in the boiler-heat source (write the entropy balance equation first)
