What happens to the magnetic field when a coil is connected to an ac source?

Homework Answers

Answer #1

When a coil is connected to an ac source , as we know in a ac complete cycle there is two half cycle one in positive direction another is in negetive direction. That is suring a complete cycle 1st half provides a clockwise currrent through coil ankther provides an anti-clockwise current. So the direction of magnetic field produced during one half cycle is reversed during next half cycle. So we will get a time varrying magnetic field if a coil is connected to an ac source.
