Which one of the following is NOT a testable prediction of the Big Bang?

A. The amount of helium versus hydrogen in the Universe.

B. The spatial variation of microwave background fluctuations.

C. The fraction of heavy nuclei in the Universe.

D. The size of fluctuations in the microwave background radiation.

Homework Answers

Answer #1

Answer- option (C) The fraction of heavy nuclei in the Universe.

The Big Bang theory predicts taht the early universe was a hot and dense place and soon it expand and becomes cool. Microwave background is remnant heat of that time and fluctuation are due to uncertainity principle. Hence option b and d are testable prediction of Big Bang. Option a is also testable prediction since maximum part was hydrogen initially and it was chages to helium.

I will be glad to see your comment if you have any query. Thanks...
