why do EM waves from different TV stations not interfere with each other ?

why do EM waves from different TV stations not interfere with each other ?

Answer #1

1.Radio stations are spread out across different frequencies in an area. For you to successfully cancel out one station with another, you would need them to be the same frequency so that the crests and troughs of one wave always coincides with another.

2.When you receive radio signals on a receiver, you filter out the signals except for a small bandwidth centered around the desired carrier signal. So it doesn't matter that you may be receiving signals from twenty different stations since you can filter out all but a desired frequency.

Electromagnetic waves are produced by oscillating accelerated particle. Give the reason, why electromagnetic waves have more application than the non-electromagnetic waves? An EM radiation coming out when a TV remote is switched on. Now, if it starts propagating from vacuum into water, it is assumed that its speed is reduced to half, predict its wavelength in water and justify your result. Compare and validate your results for a radiation coming out from an X-ray machine. Compare the effects on frequency...
