Answer #2

Hey there!

If you could notice the image of the solar system you will see a group of asteroids between as a belt between Mars and Jupiter.

Other than that a group or a cloud of asteroids travel through the orbit of Jupiter ahead and behind Jupiter. These clouds of asteroids ahead and behind Jupiter is called as the TROJAN ASTEROID!

Trojan asteroids may be captured comets, asteroids or kuiper belt objects.

Asteroids can be classified into two broad groups based on their composition and location: carbon-rich asteroids dominate the outer part of the asteroid belt, whereas metal-rich asteroids dominate the inner part of the belt. Analysis of the fragment we have discussed in this project reveals that it contains nearly equal amounts of metals and carbon. Can you conclude that the original whole asteroid had a similar composition? Can you conclude with a high degree of confidence that the asteroid originated...

Two identical spherical asteroids (mass 3.07x1018 kg, radius 5.5x103 m) are initially at rest, with their centers 6.01x105 m apart. Ignore all other objects in the universe, and friction. The two asteroids accelerate toward each other, due to gravity, until they finally crash together. At what speed, in m/s, will each asteroid be moving when they collide (just touch on their outer edge)? NOTE: when the asteroids collide, the distance between the centers of the asteroids is not zero!
