lab: Resistivity
• Identify the wire composition via an internet search
• Cite the source you used
• Use evidence to describe the relationship between the measured resistivity and both wire length and cross-sectional area
• Use evidence to describe the relationship between the measured resistance and both wire length and cross-sectional area
• Discuss sources of measurement error
Please tape the answer and cite the source.
Resistivity : it is one of the measure of the resisting power of a specified material to
the flow of an electric current through the wire considered of any conducting wire.
for resistivity the formula can be used = R A / L
= resistivity
R = resistance
A = cross sectional area
L = length of the wire
so need to find the resistivity,
we need a wire
having some length , so that it have some cross sectional area and if sent some current through the
wire we will come to know the resistance or using digital multi meter we can know the resistance directly.
so just we need a conducting wire , multi meter , current enough for this experiment.
