The four blades of a helicopter require 36 seconds to a maximum speed of 1800 rpms. An individual blade weight 64 kg and has a length of 5.2 m.
(a) Calculate how much power it takes to maintain a rotation of 1200 rpms.
(b) What is the total angular momentum of the helicopter’s blades during part A
(c) When the helicopter blades rotate faster than the maximum rotation, the helicopter will over heat. If one of the blades broke off midflight (during part a), then determine whether or not the helicopter be in danger.
(C) If one of the plates broke off made flight then also the helicopter is not in danger if the other plates rotate what the larger angular velocity such that the total angular momentum still remains the same.
