an object is thrown with an initial horizontal velocity of 10 m/s and an initial velocity of 15 m/s. what is the horizontal velocity after 2 seconds? wha tis the vertical velocity of the object after 2 seconds?

Answer #1

Given

   initial horizontal velocity ux = 10 m/s

   initial velocity is 15 m/s

as the other forces acting on the object are zero except the gravitational force we can consider it as horizontal projectile

   and the horizontal velocity of the projectile is same after 2 s

the vertical velocity only can change with time
as

   Vf = vi-gt
   vf = 15 - 9.8*2
   vf = 15-19.6
   vf = -4.6 m/s

means the velocity is decreasing.
