At what speed does a 1000 kg compact car have the same kinetic energy as a 19000 kg truck going 22 km/hr ?

Homework Answers

Answer #1

SPEED OF THE TRUCK IS Vt = 22*1000/3600 = 6.11 m/s

KINETIC ENERGY OF CAR = 1/2 MV2 = KINETIC ENRGY OF TRUCK

                            1/2 *1000*V2 = 1/219000*6.112

                    SPEED OF THE CAR V = SQUARE ROOT OF (1/2*19000*6.112 *2/1000) = 26.64 m/s
